Jenukallu Gudda
Honey-rock hill — named for the wild hives on its cliffs, and they are still there.
Jenukallu Gudda is one of the cluster of peaks around Ettina Bhuja on the Charmadi ridge. The name means honey rock, for the wild bee colonies on its cliff faces. Steep, grassy and exposed near the top, with the ghat road visible a long way below.

Travel tips
No forest department permit; estate permission and a local guide are expected. Start early and carry all your water. Carry 3 L, trekking shoes, a windproof layer and full socks.

Do: take a guide from the base village. Do: keep well clear of rock overhangs — the wild bees the hill is named for are still there. Don't: disturb hives or make noise near the cliffs. Don't: attempt the summit in wind. Don't: camp on the ridge.
