Hanuman Gundi Falls
A rock-cut plunge inside Kudremukh park
Also called Soojimale, Hanuman Gundi drops around 22 metres into a rocky pool inside Kudremukh National Park, on the road between Kalasa/Kudremukh and Karkala. A long flight of about 250 stone steps leads down to the base through thick forest.

Travel tips
Also called Soothanabbi, inside Kudremukh National Park on the Kalasa–Karkala road, about 100 km from town. Roughly 250 steps down to the pool and the same back up. Best July to January.

Do: take the steps slowly — they are steep, wet and have no handrail in places. Do: pay the park entry at the counter. Don't: swim when the flow is heavy; people have been swept here. Don't: take plastic past the gate — it is checked. Don't: go off the constructed path; this is a national park.
